Dallas Public Library English as a Second Language (ESL) classes

Dallas Public Library ESL classes are free, 12-week, volunteer-led classes focused on building communicative skills and English vocabulary for beginner to high intermediate adult learners.

ESL classes are offered in the fall and spring at the following locations on Saturdays at 10:00 am or 2:00 pm (where applicable).

IMPORTANT: Classes are first-come, first-served and are limited to 25 students.
All new students MUST attend the mandatory registration and orientation at a participating Dallas library on the scheduled date listed below.

Spring session mandatory registration and orientation:

MoneyGram Literacy Center

Dallas-based MoneyGram and Dallas Public Library have partnered to launch the MoneyGram Literacy Center at the Bachman Lake Branch Library, located at 9480 Webb Chapel Rd, Dallas, TX 75220. As part of this partnership, classes are offered free of charge for adults and families, including multi-level adult ESL classes, and Spanish GED preparation classes. Classes are offered in the afternoon, evening and on Saturday during the spring, summer and fall terms.

Atmos Energy and Dallas Public Library have partnered to launch the Atmos Energy Literacy Center at the Dallas West Branch Library, located at 2332 Singleton Blvd, Dallas, TX 75212. As part of this partnership, Texas A&M University Commerce students and community volunteers gain experience in classroom instruction by teaching adult ESL classes, Spanish GED preparation classes, and Citizenship classes. Morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday classes are offered during the spring, summer and fall terms at the Atmos Energy Literacy Center at Dallas West Library.
