VITA Tax Help

Where: Renner Frankford Branch Library (in the Auditorium)

Dallas Public Library will partner with the IRS's VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program to offer free, in-person tax assistance through trained volunteers. Assistance is geared toward people with low-to-moderate income, persons with disabilities, the elderly and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. People interested in receiving assistance should bring W-2's, last year's tax return, Social Security cards for all dependents, and photo I.D. Space is limited. Black History Month Kickoff

Come join us for a fun filled afternoon celebrating black history month. Enjoy our library display highlighting African American leaders, inventors, artists and authors. Create various crafts such as a black and white collage to hang on the wall, African mask, and African jewelry.

Tadpole Tales: Toddler Storytime

Where: Renner Frankford Branch Library (in the Auditorium)

Tadpole Tales is a fun, free, and social way for the very young to learn language and counting skills. This storytime aims to introduce children to the world of books and reading with fun, interactive experiences in a safe environment. Tadpole Tales includes stories, rhymes, songs, finger-plays, bubbles and ends with a simple craft activity. Each Tadpole Tales is centered around a theme from start to finish. Total program length is between 30 and 45 minutes.

This program is targeted to children ranging in age from 2 to 4 years old, but all ages are welcome!


Knit & Crochet Club

Come join us for a fun time of knitting and crochet. Bring your latest project. Knit/crochet, socialize and share your patterns and techniques with others. All skill levels are welcome

BookWalkers

Join the Book Walkers- a group that will meet every week to do some exercise and talk about your favorite books. We will start at 10:00 Am with some light stretching then at 10:15 we will walk for approximately 1 mile while talking about our favorite books. It's time to keep your mind and your body healthy! Note: The group will not meet when it is raining outside.

Bringing in the New Year

Become the dragon at the center of the dragon dance with master theater artist Dana Proulx-Willis. You'll learn about Chinese New Year traditions and the intricacies of the dragon dance, and you'll create your own movements as a dragon dancer.
