AARP TAX ASSISTANCE

Volunteers from AARP will offer free tax assistance until the last date to file taxes in April.


Free GED Tutoring

When: Thursday, February 09, 2012, at 12:00 PM
Where: Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library (in the Classroom 1)

Students receive free one-on-one and small group GED tutoring for 11 weeks. Tutoring focuses on reading, writing and math. Volunteer instructors provide free online GED preparation for extra practice, tips and tricks to pass the G.E.D., and information on the location of the closest G.E.D. testing center. Only ten students per class. Registration by January 31, 2012 is required.


Martin Luther King Library Book Club (Adult)

When: Saturday, February 11, 2012, at 1:00 PM
Where: Martin Luther King, Jr. Branch Library

Each month the group discusses a book or author selected for that month by club members. Meetings may feature presentations from local, national or international authors. Meeting times may change depending on special events. Please check our blog for upcoming events.
