SMU Summer Author Series presents Eric Bing

Why do people around the world die of easily preventable and treatable diseases like malaria? That is the issue Professor Eric Bing tackles in his book, Pharmacy on a Bicycle: Innovative Solutions for Global Health and Poverty. Hear Bing talk about his proposed solution to get health care out to remote communities via microclinics, micropharmacies and micro entrepreneurs.

Bing is the director of Global Health at the George W. Bush Institute and a professor of Global Health at SMU.

Join us for an animal-filled adventure! We'll explore wild animals in artworks and through the story Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown. Then, we'll create our own wild artwork. Recommended for ages 5-9. Space limited to 30 children. Presented by the Dallas Museum of Art.


Watercolor Demonstration by Pat Whellis Kochan

The Lochwood Branch Library Friends present a watercolor demonstration by Dallas native, painter, and author Pat Whellis Kochan. Watch as an accomplished artist demonstrates watercolor painting live at the Lochwood Branch Library, and enjoy a special show of paintings of Dallas landmarks and memories of old downtown. Pat's book, Once Upon A Time in Dallas: Through the Artist's Eyes, is a compilation of her paintings of Dallas landmarks and nostalgic scenes of downtown Dallas when it was the city's premiere shopping destination.
