Come out and see Sparky talk about the importance of having smoke alarms, crawling low under smoke, having an escape plan, calling 911, and stop, drop, and roll. It is 30 minutes long and it is for children grades Pre K-2nd grade.


Taking It to the Streets presented by Dallas Contemporary Museum

Movie Matinee @ Hampton-Illinois

Join us for a free family friendly movie. You may bring a covered drink and snack to enjoy during movie time. All children under the age of 13 MUST be accompanied by an adult.


20 Hour Challenge: Survival Spanish for Customer Service

When: Monday, July 28, 2014 - 5:30 PM
Where: Hampton-Illinois Branch Library (in the Classroom A)

Take the 20-Hour Challenge and learn Spanish this summer. As part of the Mayor's Summer Reading Club, adults are encouraged to take on a new skill for 20 hours this summer.

Spanish classes are held 2.5 hours a week for 8 weeks and focus on Spanish conversation skills for customer service. Classes are free but limited to the first 30 adults who register online.

This program is supported by a 2014 Texas Book Festival Literacy Initiative Grant.


Unidos- Dallas Police Department Latino Community Outreach

El Sargento Robert Munoz estara proporcionando informacion muy valiosa para los residentes de habla hispana en Dallas. Algunos puntos de interes tratados seran: Asistencia de Inmigracion desponible, Servicios de Salud para personas de la tercera edad, y algotros programas disponibles a los residentes de la ciudad de Dallas.
El proposito del programa es ayudar a promover comunidades mas seguras y major calidad de vida para todos los que viven y laboran en nuestras comunidades.

Sergeant Robert Muñoz will be providing valuable resources and information to the Spanish speaking residents in the Dallas area. Some of the areas of importance that will be covered are: Immigration Law assistance, senior home health care services, and city programs.
The main objective of the programs it to help promote safer communities and a better quality of life for all who live and work in our communities through education and empowerment.
